The Greed of Gehazi
25 When he went in to his master, Elisha asked him, “Where have you been, Gehazi?”
“I haven’t been anywhere,” he replied.
Read 2nd Kings 5:20-27 for the full context of the story.
God had revealed to Elisha, in the Spirit, the deceit of Gehazi. Gehazi, when confronted, failed to be accountable for his actions.
There is wisdom in some of the statements of parents and grandparents like … “What’s done in the dark will come to light” and “Your sin will find you out.” I often wondered how mother knew what she knew. Maybe it was as it was with Elisha … God revealed it to her in the Spirit. One thing for sure. You can’t hide your sin from God. That brings to mind another things grandparents say … “Confession is good for the soul!”
