MAKE THE COMMITMENT

Romans 12:1-2

A Living Sacrifice to God

1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

The Apostle Paul draws a conclusion … “And so…” Because of what he has said in the first eleven chapters, Paul urges us, in light of God’s mercy, justification, sanctification and coming glorification, to commit ourselves to be living sacrifices for Him. We should allow God’s mercy to continue in our lives. We should let it bring us to the point of absolute commitment.

When we commit ourselves to God’s will, our talents and gifts become surrendered to the purpose He created us for in the first place.

If you have never committed yourself to Christ, now would be a good time to do that. If you have made this commitment already, today would be a good day for renewal.

“And so…” What conclusion have you drawn? What commitment have you made?
