Growing in Faith
8 The more you grow like this (2nd Peter 1:5-7), the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.
10 So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. 11 Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Growing in faith is a process that we don’t complete on this side of heaven. In submission to the Holy Spirit, our growth in faith continues with every new day, every new circumstance, every new challenge, we encounter. Peter encourages us to embrace this process, never looking back or falling away.
The reward for holding on is the grand celebration we will experience in ‘the eternal Kingdom.’ I look forward to meeting you there. Even more … I look forward to worshipping at Jesus feet.
