Deuteronomy 5:32-33

32 So Moses told the people, “You must be careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God, following his instructions in every detail. 33 Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy.
We live in a fast paced age, an instant society. We want things right now. Fast food … instant messaging … immediate response time … even short, quick devotions (smile). A two-day train ride has been replaced with a two-hour flight (with no scenery out the window). The family dinner hour has been squeezed down to ten minutes of microwaved something (with little or no conversation).
There is no quick fix for building Godly character, integrity, wisdom, honesty, dedication, experience and self-discipline into one’s life. It takes steady and consistent study of God’s revelation which will ultimately build in you a reverential fear of God. That high awe of God will control your thoughts and actions.
Take the time necessary to grasp God’s “…instructions in every detail.” That’s time which will guide you to a “…long and prosperous…” life.
