And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don’t even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Let’s take a close look at what the Apostle Paul has to say about prayer offered to God by the Holy Spirit.
First, we see it has a purpose … “the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress.”
Second, the communication between God and the Holy Spirit is in a ‘language’ above our ability of expression.
Third, the Holy Spirit prays for us in tune with the heart and the will of God.
And finally, God responds to prayer of the Holy Spirit, working through our circumstances for the good of those who love Him. Yes, that could be for our good. It could also mean our distress is for the good of someone else God desires to bless.
We can trust the ultimate Prayer Warrior … the Holy Spirit … to pray the right thing!
