IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM

The passage of Scripture he had been reading was this: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter. And as a lamb is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. He was humiliated and received no justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.” The eunuch asked Philip, “Was Isaiah talking about himself or someone else?” So Philip began with this same Scripture and then used many others to tell him the Good News about Jesus.

Acts 8:32-35

For the full context of the story of Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch, see Acts 8:26-40.

Philip took the eunuch’s question about an Old Testament prophetic scripture and used the opportunity to share the “…Good News about Jesus”. That’s the neat thing about the Bible. In its entirety, it is God’s revelation to us of His plan for the salvation of mankind. That plan is all about Jesus. You can start anywhere and end up at the Cross.

At the Cross, at the Cross, where I first saw the light;
And the burden of my heart rolled away.
It was there by faith, I received my sight;
And now I am happy all the day.
