Do any of you want to live a life that is long and good?
Then watch your tongue! Keep your lips from telling lies!
Turn away from evil and do good. Work hard at living in peace with others.
The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.

There are many things mankind has learned which will help increase life span. That is why we are seeing increasing numbers of people live 100 years and beyond. (It is interesting to note all those guys in Genesis who lived 700 … 800 … 900 years. We have a ways to go.)

The psalmist gives us three keys to a ‘long and good’ life.

1. Watch your tongue – control what comes out of your mouth.


2. Turn away from evil – endeavor to do the next right thing.


3. Work hard at living in peace – relationships are important, do the hard work necessary to hold on to them.

God’s keys to long life are what really make a difference.
