Dearest friends, you were always so careful to follow my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away you must be even more careful to put into action God’s saving work in your lives, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey him and the power to do what pleases him.

The most natural things are those things which line up with God’s will. In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve never found a need to cover themselves or hide from God until after sin had entered their life. Up until un-natural sin came along, they only did what came natural.
We struggle with the sin nature because it is un-natural … it is contrary to God’s will and the conscience that He has given us. The most natural response is obedience because “the desire to obey” is empowered by the Holy Spirit “… the power to do what pleases him.”
The natural response is love … a smile … an embrace … a kind act. Hate requires much more effort … a frown … an angry spirit … a bitter response.
Let’s do what comes natural!
