I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. So you must never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord.

It may only take a spark to get a fire going but for the fire to continue to burn requires fuel and some tending. God has given believers in Christ Jesus the gift of His Holy Spirit. We must provide the fuel and the tending to keep the flame blazing hot within us.
The fuel: God’s Word, prayer, sharing the gospel with others, serving others
The tending: Gathering together, worship, praise
What is the status of your spiritual fire? Is it fanned into a roaring flame or have you allowed the cares of the world to quench your fire?
