THE SEED OF GOD'S WORD

When you put a seed into the ground, it doesn’t grow into a plant unless it dies first. And what you put in the ground is not the plant that will grow, but only a dry little seed of wheat or whatever it is you are planting. Then God gives it a new body—just the kind he wants it to have. A different kind of plant grows from each kind of seed.

1st Corinthians 15:36b-38

We don’t know what will be produced from the seeds of God’s Word that we plant in the soil of life. From a children’s Sunday school class may come a man who is called to healing ministry, a woman called to the mission field or a teenager who will be the positive leader for his or her peers. From a Bible study or small group may come men who are spiritual leaders in their homes or women who teach their children the Way they should go.

Our job is to plant seeds. God decides what will be produced. A group of men spent the weekend planting seeds in the soil of the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility on a Kairos Retreat. It will be a blessing to observe the blooms that will come from the seeds which were planted. Pray for the harvest.
