A BAD TASTE

“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it useful again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world—like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. Don’t hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Matthew 5:13-16

Have you ever heard the expression, “That experience left a bad taste in my mouth”? What kind of taste is left in the mouth of others after they have interacted with you?

Jesus calls us to be “the salt of the earth.” Salt is used to bring alive the flavor in what we eat. Psalm 34:8 says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” When others have an experience with you, do you bring alive Jesus Christ for them? OH, He is alive whether we are being salt or not. They may be blocked from that good taste if you have allowed your salt to lose its flavor and leave a bad taste in their mouth.
