WANDERING IN THE WILDERNESS

If you had one hundred sheep, and one of them strayed away and was lost in the wilderness, wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine others to go and search for the lost one until you found it? And then you would joyfully carry it home on your shoulders. When you arrived, you would call together your friends and neighbors to rejoice with you because your lost sheep was found. In the same way, heaven will be happier over one lost sinner who returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!

Luke 15:4-7

Have you ever found yourself at a dry time in your spiritual life? Maybe you have gotten lazy about your quiet time with God, erratic in your attendance to worship or not faithful in your giving. Yes, you are wandering in the wilderness. Realizing that you are in a dry time is in itself a blessing. The Holy Spirit will not allow you to have peace about lackadaisical spirituality.

Return to your Bible Study, prayer time and worship, with vigor. The Shepherd is always there for His wondering sheep. He will carry you back home. At home with Him you find that fire you are missing.
