YIELDING IS CHOOSING

So since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does this mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! Don’t you realize that whatever you choose to obey becomes your master? You can choose sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God and receive his approval. Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you have obeyed with all your heart the new teaching God has given you. Now you are free from sin, your old master, and you have become slaves to your new master, righteousness.

Romans 6:15-18

The hymn poet says, “Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin.”

Are you making choices in life which are sin? You don’t have to answer that question because God’s Word has already given the answer. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” –Romans 3:23. We all have made wrong choices. I know I have. The more critical question is whether you have allowed God to break the chains of sin that enslave you? Have you made the choice to obey God and let Him be your Master? Have you chosen righteousness with God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?

“…if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” – Joshua 24:15.
