But on Mount Zion will be deliverance; it will be holy, and the house of Jacob will possess its inheritance. The house of Jacob will be a fire and the house of Joseph a flame; the house of Esau will be stubble, and they will set it on fire and consume it. There will be no survivors from the house of Esau.” The LORD has spoken.

As we remember the tragedy of 9/11, let us also remember the promise of God. God has declared that in spite of all the suffering, His chosen “will possess its inheritance.” Galatians 3:29 tells all who have put their faith in Jesus Christ that they are included in this promise and their inheritance is secure. “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
When Israel was in captivity God promised to deliver them. The house of Jacob would be restored and it was. We can still trust that in spite of the circumstances of current events we have a Father who delivers on His promise.
