LIGHT IN DARK PLACES

Then the King will say to those on the right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?’ And the King will tell them, ‘I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

Matthew 25:34-40

Prisons are dark places, not because of a lack of electrical facilities but rather because of the condition of the hearts of many of the men and women who are incarcerated there. To be called by God to bring light into that dark place is a calling I gladly accept. As you may remember, I do this through the Kairos Prison Ministry. I will be part of a team going into the Central MS Correctional Facility this coming weekend. Please pray for the hearts of the men we will be ministering to, that the light of Jesus Christ will be seen and that the darkness will be overcome.

Jesus specifically references prisons as one of the places the believer is to minister. He classifies those who say ‘Yes’ to the call to prison ministry “righteous ones”. Will you join our team through prayer coverage? The Kairos weekend begins on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. and wraps up Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Please pray anytime the Holy Spirit prompts you. Will you join our team through financial support? We will be working with 42 inmates. The approximate cost per inmate is $150 for the weekend. Any size contribution will be greatly appreciated. All are tax deductible. (Email me for the details or contribute through the PAYPAL button on the right.)

God bless you today for your help. May you be included in those who are positioned on ‘the right’ in eternity!
