DELIVERANCE

I think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and completely overwhelmed, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we learned not to rely on ourselves, but on God who can raise the dead. And he did deliver us from mortal danger. And we are confident that he will continue to deliver us.

It is the memories of deliverance through past trials that give us the confidence to face what lies ahead. The LORD is faithful. He never comes up short. He will give you exactly what you need to persevere when you place your hope in Him.

Trials in life are a certainty. They will come. What an honor to have the blessed assurance that Jesus will never leave us or forsake us as we go through whatever the world throws at us.

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
O what a foretaste of glory divine.
