COME ALONG SIDE

Dear brothers and sisters, if another Christian is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. Share each other’s troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too important to help someone in need, you are only fooling yourself. You are really a nobody.
Be sure to do what you should, for then you will enjoy the personal satisfaction of having done your work well, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.

Galatians 6:1-5

Troubles and problems come in all kinds of packages. For one, the issue may be health related (as in today’s devotion). For another, it may be a financial crisis which is overwhelming the whole family. Yet another, the trouble may be in the package God calls sin. All are needs and the Apostle Paul is calling the godly, the believer, the follower of the law of Christ to come along side the one who needs help.

The law of Christ is love.

When we were in need, God sent His Son to come along side! “For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Will you “obey the law of Christ”? Will you come along side someone in need?
